A 1996 World Food Summit defined food security as existing
"when all people at all times have access to sufficient, safe, nutritious food
to maintain a healthy and active life",
and set a goal to halve the number of undernourished people by 2015.
Yet nearly 20 years on, achieving food security for all is increasingly difficult
as the global population expands and shifts in climate become more unpredictable.
Food security is a global concern, but when will it become a shared priority?
