Professional Exchange Program Intern

Background: The Minnesota International Center (MIC) is a non-profit community organization that promotes international exchange and understanding between Minnesotans and the world. This department arranges itineraries for international midcareer professionals to meet with their professional counterparts and observe the reality of the US. The visitors are guests of the US government under the US State Department's International Visitor program. MIC's Professional Exchange Program arranges appointments for about 400 international visitors per year.

Responsibilities/Duties:
To work in an administrative capacity for programs in the following areas:
  1. Programming - Assist in arranging and confirming appointments for International Visitors.
  2. Statistics and Record Keeping: - Assist in maintaining files and records on international visitors and local community contacts.
  3. General Office Support - Assist with filing, photocopying, telephoning, faxing, written correspondence and data entry.

Qualifications:
Good written and verbal communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work on several projects at once. Interest and/or coursework in International Relations, political science, languages. Word-processing and data entry skills, very helpful.
