Community Programs Intern

Community Programs Manager

Background: The Minnesota International Center (MIC) is a non-profit community organization that promotes international exchange and understanding between Minnesotans and the world. The volunteer program at MIC is an evolving and expanding program.

Responsibilities/Duties:
To assist the Community Programs Manager in the following areas:
  1. Program Development - assist with researching volunteer resources, outreach to other organizations, and maintaining records.
  2. Program coordination - do phone and mail follow-up contacts with prospective interns and volunteers.
  3. Office Assistance - provide administrative support including correspondence, data entry, filing, and preparation for meetings.
  4. Assist with program preparations for grant-funded project about religion.
  5. Hospitality - Work with Professional Exchange staff and volunteers to contact and arrange dinner hospitality hosts and escorts for international visitors from MIC's volunteer corps.

Qualifications:
Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work on several projects simultaneously. Ability and interest in interacting with the public. Interest or coursework in volunteer coordination, non-profit management, human resources, community service.
