Professional Exchange Program

The Professional Exchange Program provides opportunities for professional exchange between Minnesotans and mid-career international professionals. The Program also gives them a wide sampling of US life through home, small town and farm visits and through cultural events. Most of the 400 visitors who come through Minnesota each year are sponsored by the U.S. Information Agency (USIA). Nationally, in the USIA International Visitor program, more than 200 visitors have gone on to become the heads of their nations, such as Margaret Thatcher, Anwar Sadat, Frederick DeKlerk, and Tony Blair.

The majority of International Visitors have the opportunity to be a dinner guest in the home of a Minnesota International Center member.

The Minnesota International Center is a member of the National Council for International Visitors (NCIV).
