March 19, 2003
|
Come to MIC to learn about and discuss current foreign policy issues in a small-group setting on the third Wednesday of each month. March's topic is Women's Rights, viewed in an international context, with Arvonne Fraser, Senior Fellow Emerita, Humbert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs.
She served as U.S. representative to the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women with the rank of Ambassador in 1993 and 1994, and has been a member of various U.S. delegations to U.N. world conferences, including the 1993 World Conference on Human Rights. Ms. Fraser organized and co-directed the Humphrey Institute's Center on Women and Public Policy and International Women's Rights Watch Project.
