World Chat - Faiths in the Land Called Holy: Help or Hindrance to a Just Peace?
Wednesday, February 4, 2004
|
In an informal small group setting, Charles Lutz, Churches for Middle East Peace coordinator in Minnesota, will explore the Palestinian-Israeli situation as an ongoing interplay of faith and politics - for good and ill - among Muslims, Jews and Christians in both the Holy Land and the U.S.
Mr. Lutz is retired from serving 40 years as a lay church worker with assignments chiefly in social justice and communication. He has made six visits with groups to the Holy Land, most recently in December 2003. Since 1989 his congreagation in Minneapolis has had a sister-parish tie to a church in Bethlehem, Palestine.
