World Affairs Symposium: Asian American Experience in the Midwest
May 21 and May 22, 2004

The symposium will address:
. Increase awareness of the issues of concern to the Asian American populations in the region;
. Build bridges of understanding between Asian A,mericans and other gorups in the Midwest and nationwide;
. Raise awareness of the breadth and depth of the region's connections with Asia;
. Stimulate interest in Asia among local and regional policy makers and business people, and
. Consider useful recommendations to local and regional policy makers.

Session topics include:
. Being Asian American in the Heartland
. The Policy Environment
. Relations with Asia
. Political Participation
. Changing Democraphics and Identity
