presented by the United Nations Association of Minnesota in cooperation with the United Nations Foundation.

J. Brian Atwood, dean of the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs

J. Brian Atwood seved for six years as administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development during the administration of President William Clinton. In 2001, Atwood served on the U.N. Secretary "Brahimi" panel that recommended major changes in the U.N.'s peacekeeping and peacebuilding operations. He also served on the Secretary of Energy's Advisory Board, the Center for Strategic International Studies/U.S. Army Association Commission to study post-conflict reconstruction, and the Council on Foreign Relations task force that wrote the report entitled Iraq: The Day After.
