presented by the United Nations Association of Minnesota in cooperation with the United Nations Foundation.

August lecture:
What is Legitimate Use of Force under International Law and Article 7 of the United Nations Charter?
Speaker:
Dr Ved Nanda, vice provost for Internationalization at the School of Law, University of Denver.

Dr. Ved Nanda is the Thompson G. Marsh professor of Law and director of the International Legal Studies program at the University of Denver School of Law. Professor Nanda has received many awards, including the World Legal Scholar award from the World Jurist Association in Beijing, China, and the Burlington Northern Foundation as the Outstanding Scholar from the University of Denver. He is Honorary President of the World Jurist Association, and Honorary Vice President of the International Law Association - American Branch, amongst other positions. He serves on a task force of the ABA's section on International Law on the U.N. Commission on Human Rights.
