Internship Opportunities

Position Title: Administrative Intern

Supervisor: Administrative Staff

Background:  The Minnesota International Center (MIC) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, community organization. Our mission is to inspire community to understand global issues and cultures in an ever changing world. MIC is affiliated with the World Affairs Councils of America, the Foreign Policy Association, the National Council for International Visitors and NAFSA: the Association of International Educators.

Administration is responsible for supporting the Board of Directors, the President and Vice President and program staff. The department is also responsible for a smooth-running office; customer service; facility management, technology support and communications.

Responsibilities/Duties:

To assist the Administration in the following areas:
  • Administrative Support: provide assistance to the administrative team with human resources, public relations, intern and basic information mailings, correspondence, data entry, postings, filing, faxing, updating MIC 's webpage, and internal and external customer service.
  • Board of Directors Support: assist with correspondence and record keeping for the Board of Directors.
  • Office Support: assist with greeting guests and parking, answer a 2-line phone, prepare office for meetings and maintain the organizational calendar.
Qualifications:

Strong organizational and communication skills, and attention to detail. Ability to work on several projects simultaneously. Ability and interest in interacting with the public. Interest or coursework in business administration, nonprofit management and human resources.
