Internship Opportunities

Position Title: Development Intern

Supervisor: Development Manager

Background:  The Minnesota International Center (MIC) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, community organization. Our mission is to inspire community to understand global issues and cultures in an ever changing world. MIC is affiliated with the World Affairs Councils of America, the Foreign Policy Association, the National Council for International Visitors and NAFSA: the Association of International Educators.

The Development Department works closely with MIC's corporate, individual and foundation donors. This department establishes working relationships with new donors, maintains positive relations with current donors and identifies various funding opportunities.

Responsibilities/Duties:

To assist the Development Manager in the following areas:
  • Research prospective corporate and foundation donors
  • Send out regular correspondence to individual and corporate donors
  • Maintain files, calendars, goals forms
  • Put together informational packets and supporting materials for grant requests
  • Data Entry
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:

Strong organizational and research skills; detail-oriented; ability to work on several projects simultaneously. Must be proficient in internet and library research. Interest or coursework in nonprofit management and/or fundraising.
